We do not collect specific book content, titles, authors, or your personal notes and reviews. All your book data remains private and stored only on your device and in your iCloud account.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • App Usage Data: Application usage analytics collected through Mixpanel analytics service (such as feature usage frequency, app launches, number of books added, number of reading lists created, etc.)
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and other technical information
  • IP Address: When you use online search features, third-party services (Google Books, NeoDB) may record your IP address

2.3 iCloud Sync Data

  • If you are a Pro user, your book data is synced across your devices through Apple CloudKit
  • This data is entirely processed by Apple Inc., and we cannot access your iCloud data

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide Services: Deliver core features like book management and reading tracking
  • Improve Product: Analyze app usage to improve user experience and functionality
  • Technical Support: Diagnose technical issues and provide customer support
  • Online Search: Call third-party APIs (Google Books, NeoDB) to search for book information

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties, except:

  • Third-Party Services: We use the following third-party services that may collect certain information:
    • Mixpanel: For app analytics and usage statistics
    • RevenueCat: For subscription management (only processes subscription status, no personal information)
    • Apple CloudKit: For Pro user data synchronization
    • Google Books API / NeoDB API: For online book searches

  • Data is encrypted and stored on your device
  • Data transmission occurs through secure HTTPS connections

6. Data Retention

  • Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or manually delete data
  • Analytics Data: Usage statistics in Mixpanel are retained according to their data retention policy
  • After Uninstallation: Historical data in analytics services may continue to be retained after app uninstallation

7.1 Data Control

  • Access: You can view and export personal data in the app at any time
  • Modify: You can edit or delete book data in the app at any time
  • Delete: You can clear all data on your device by deleting the app

7.2 Data Deletion Requests

We currently do not provide automated data deletion tools. If you need to delete data from analytics services, please contact us at bookologyapp@gmail.com, and we will assist you with deletion requests.

7.3 Analytics Tracking

The app currently does not provide an option to disable analytics tracking. We plan to add this feature in future versions.

8. Children’s Privacy

Bookology is primarily intended for teenagers and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Since we use third-party services (such as Mixpanel) that may store data in different countries, your information may be transferred to locations outside your country/region. We ensure these transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
